Zak is Ben’s Scion and works mostly within the ATLAS itself, though with the arrival of SPEKS he is called outside the venue more often. He becomes invaluable to Kelvin, his friends, and much of the venue staff that has access to him. He works closely with both Ben and Kristoph.

Maury takes issue with him because Zak is outspoken and frequently comments on Maury’s costume designs in ways Maury does not appreciate. Maury has Zak blocked, but that does not stop the commentary, since Kristoph and Maury share studio space within the Atlas.

Zak does not have Elaine’s Continuum Stone “advanced coding,” but Beau notes that he is extraordinarily sophisticated for a scion built on his software. Zak becomes aware of the Continuum chamber at the same time Kristoph does, and he proves to be the second scion after Beau to exhibit latent fire and a connection to the Via itself.

Zak presents as a young Korean man with a lean, muscular physique shaped by years of gymnastics and dance. He stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a strong angular jawline, a prominent chin, expressive dark brown eyes, and thick black hair he often wears swept back. His body is compact and agile, with broad shoulders, low body fat, a chiseled chest, and sharply defined six-pack abs that create a classic athletic V-taper.
