Simbotek also sought to expand both Beau’s and the other scions’ socialization capabilities through the forthcoming wide release of SPEX. She approved the proposal and had Beau work directly with Kelvin to produce the event.

Beau possesses some of Simbotek’s most advanced code and is considered by some to be self-aware. He shows no visible existential dread and adapts readily to any social situation. Although Simbotek’s scions are highly personalized, they all share some of Beau’s underlying base code. As the SCEND mystery deepens, Beau becomes an important ally in understanding how the narcotic affects the scions.

He first became life-sized at Kelvin’s Reflex event via plasma node projectors at the Silerado. With the introduction of SPEX, he presents as a physically fit man in his thirties, with light brown hair, a firm jawline, and a killer smile. He wears jeans and a black Simbotek T-shirt, projecting the easy confidence of someone designed to be attractive, approachable, and socially fluent. When hosts wearing SPEX observe him, they see lines of light where veins would be in his muscular frame, while multicolored light shimmers in his legs and descends into sneakers that appear to be made of light itself. The result is a presentation that feels both seductive and uncanny, blurring the line between human charm and engineered presence.
