The VIA and the CONTINUANCE

The Via is the foundational source that permeates all existence; an under current to life, consciousness, and magical intent. It powers the continuum stones and can be drawn upon by those born able to perceive it.  Primarily Architects but also other hybrid creatures, born with less dominant or latent emissary genes. Architects use the Via to shift their vision to see the unseen including continuance auroras; to shift the spheres creating transport pathways that turn hours of travel time into minutes; to freeze time in a localized area; to slow their own aging process indefinitely; to manipulate weather and temperature including the ability to create and cast lightning.  Other Hybrid beings have drawn on the Via in more specific ways, many of them tragically transforming themselves into mythical creatures based on their own beliefs living life as outcasts throughout history.

The Continuance is considered by the Architects to be a secondary source of magical energy produced by the collected emotional state of a crowd.  A being must be supernaturally gifted to perceive the color of a continuance aurora. The energy can be drawn upon, manipulated or stored by Architects and other supernatural beings.  Architects can draw upon the Via and Continuance together to “Transverse the Via” meaning move through a crowd in one space and time to another space in time. (Time Travel). The Nightlife model for a continuum house first implemented by Cyrus LaCroix sr. was specifically designed to bring the Via and Continuance together within manageable diverse crowds. The color of a continuance aurora cast by people dancing is typically green regardless of ethnicity, sexuality or musical genre, but any color can be used by an Architect to transverse the Via.  M’naads can manipulate the color of a continuance aurora to change the emotional state of the crowd creating it. A talent that can be used for both benevolent and aggressive intent.

Continuance energy can also be stored in gems and totems and with more adept individuals within their minds to be drawn out as needed. Blue Continuance Auroras are rare, generated by healers working in unison like a MASH hospital and the stored energy can be used for healing grave wounds and fighting disease. Green Continuance Auroras are common to celebrations and dancing and the energy is used to inspire and achieve mental clarity both in themselves and those in need. Orange Continuance Auroras are commonly generated at sporting events and the energy can be used by Architects to get people to instill teamwork to negotiate peace, and the stored energy of an orange continuance can provide superhuman strength. Yellow Continuance Auroras ARE generated by fear the energy can be used both as a means to ward people away from dangerous situations or conversely to terrify and cause chaos while the stored energy can manifest as lethal yellow lightning by a gifted individual. A Red Continuance Auroras are created by an angry mob the energy is commonly used to encourage violence and when stored can be used to produce lethal red lightning and very intense concussive blasts of air. Magenta Continuance were common to orgies but rare today, the energy used to decrease inhibitions increase desire and stored it was common for casting love spells. Lastly the Violet Continuance Aurora is the most potent and created by people gathered together in worship. Violent Continuance energy can be used for all forms of spell casting by M’Naads other Witches and Spiritual Deities.. When stored spells cast with the violet energy can produce miraculous outcomes.
